.01 There Seems to be a Problem
The Gift of GOOD Intentions, Sort of Brief History of the Why We are We + Why Here
The origins of OFAD were fairly simple and the intentions mostly pure. From the onset the concept of OFAD was to inspire action inside our surrounding creative group. We would make an effort to call attention to some of the work that was or would be produced in this group and throughout the extended creative network that we all are in some way connected to.
The OFAD site was to be seen as a venue for communicating these concepts and illuminating interesting subject matter or individuals.
Keeping it Focused
One of the major problems with the first pass at the OFAD site was the nature of being too loose. This was a completely intentional and optimistic view of what type of content we would have access to and the nature of who would contribute to the site. I had in the onset built an engine for content production on a rather large scale, focused on making the CMS as end user friendly as possible, and in the end I was the end user. Meaning I would post near all content, most formatting hand wrought and I would not need half of the tools I put into place to support end user usability.
Burn After Reading
The nature of building connections or relationships is usually founded on some sort of common thread. A spark between that if not nurtured correctly can easily fade. I believe that the previous pass at the OFAD effort was responsible for connecting a solid amount of individuals with like minded intentions. The goals were solid and the outcome was gaining momentum. The only issue was that OFAD itself had very soft follow through and may have alienated anyone who had interest in what the hell we were doing.
I struggled with that for a while, finally abandoning the responsibility of this effort thus obliterating all credibility. Bummer high bro, like what the fuck man…
I realized in retrospect that responsibility is what is expected of one based on commitment. I have always had a lean toward guilt and the responsibility of it’s inflection. I do believe we do owe it to one another to try at the very least. So with that the new incarnation of the OFAD effort will be…
An effort in the direction of quality, inconsistent consistency and an attempt in building bridges and trying really hard to not burn them.
The Nature of a Not so Epic Fail
Saving The World one compelling blog post at a time as a hobby… Look we all have the responsibility of the everyday, life is good for some, hard for others, and sometimes very difficult. Time is the bitch we all must pay our dues to. So what happens when you have no time but you have ambitions to do something other than the day to day - 9 to 5. You toil in the early and in the late to create something that feeds you being.
The original pass at the OFAD site I just made the mistake of assuming I had time to burn, this led to a silent fail of going dark and staying dark. Bad move, to burn your already small audience.

.02 Execution of New
What really is the difference, are old habits just better at hiding waiting for the opportunity to resurface.
To heed the message from above and to walk with the angels is in the nature of habits. To not give a fuck is in the nature of us all.

Modularity
The use of individually distinct functional units, as in assembling a mechanical system. I have found that the construction of complex ideas or creative acts seem to be less daunting when broken out into smaller more manageable chunks. The OFAD believes that any truly GOODish story has chapters, different forms of narrative prose, or choice of venue. With that shit said chucks are fluid, movable and can be omitted, elevated, or stand on their own.
We do our best to follow in the process of leading in the realm of the righteously kickass and the arrogant when it comes to getting our point across. - Or - Fuck if you really take a look at it long-form storytelling is just too long so if you break it out into chunks, the shit is more assessable based on modern opinions of time and patience.

The Distillation of Previous Content Themes
Simply put the first wave of the OFAD site was too much and I mean way too much. In the past there was an attempt to switch gears too easily to support too many content directions, manifesting in endless loose ends and misguided directions for the projects and site.
Bad intention refinances itself in perpetuity
The change of direction that is intended on the new OFAD platform is to simply simplify the engine for telling the story. The distillation of presentation layers or content themes to get to the heart of what matters. The content itself.
Give up You're Too Controlling
Say fuck it, if you're in the driver's seat then drive... In the past all content was hand manipulated by OFAD, causing endless hours of micromanagement in the hopes to standardize the OFAD tone. The original intention of the site was to build an engine to enable authors to submit and build their own content. The overhead of this was insane and became one of the core reasons for project abandonment. Later to that shit bro… Our re-calibrated intention is to build bridges and tell stories, to help others articulate via our lens of formatting, and to not really give a fuck when it comes to being consistent. The goal is quality storytelling.
The Solution as a Statement
The Nature of Infrequency as a Beacon of Communication
The future of focused content will be worth waiting for…
Turn and burn updates have too much overhead and no lasting value and we just don’t have time for that shit. So the reader and the author should be respected and with this respect comes responsibility on both parties.
The Author ‘s Role
The OFAD site in this case must engage the reader with a compelling argument on a level that touches them in a way that resonates and continues to resonate within them. (or) Just provide somewhat fucking awesome content on an interesting subject matter in a very compelling format.
The Reader's Role
Read and take time to digest...
So much of what we are bombarded with in our everyday takes time away from important shit like family, friends, the creative process. All we need is more shit to pay attention to in our everyday. All OFAD asks of its readers is to give us a chance, we promise to very infrequently produce compelling content that is worth your time. Just put down your Tuesday’s mid-afternoon meme hunt or Insta-Face lurk session for something that may be more beneficial.
